OBJECT AS SUBJECT is the latest endeavor of maker/performer, Paris Hurley. Built upon an ongoing investigation of cultural mythologies, personas, ritual, oppression, liberation, and our individual, cultural, & collective performances of identity, the project brings these explorations to life in a visceral landscape of dark drones, gritty bass riffs, wailing vocals, and stage antics of overtly feminist proportions.
The Seattle lineup features, Angelina Baldoz (bass/vox) and Anne Mathews (drums/vox). All compositions by Paris Hurley.

10:30 The Third Set: duos and trios create spontaneous musical invention
Spite House is on 14th between Pike and Pine, behind the brown fence.
Spite House concerts started in 2013 as a venue for new music. Beloved by Seattle's improvisation communities, the series continues. Each concert begins with a presentation by the Spite House house band, followed by a concert presentation. Concert artists are selected by a rotating panel of curators, local musicians devoted to finding Seattle's most interesting and unique new music.
The third set is always open. Audience members are welcome to bring voices and other instruments. After the concert proper impromptu duos and small ensembles are formed to create a set of improvised magic.
No cover, donations warmly encouraged.
All night, in the kitchen: food, drink.
Spite House exists and persists 'in spite of' unceasing surrounding urban development. Check out this unique Seattle venue!
